The MHR Team 2 variator is the heir to the throne for the Multivar 2000 MHR Team from Malossi and that is not without a few improvements up its sleeve.
Malossi has worked hard to develop this variator to solve the most common problems when it comes to CVT systems: that the frame slides, poor power transmission and not least that the slide tube settles.
They have tried to circumvent these problems by making the variator self-lubricating, which means that the variator housing can run on the sliding tube with a minimum of friction which reduces wear and not least power loss.
Included accessories in the package:
The sliding tube is designed with a groove in the middle where two small holes have been drilled which allow the grease to seep out from inside the sliding tube and out between the sliding tube and the variator housing. This provides an optimal membrane which reduces the friction between the two and guarantees better service life and power transmission, in addition to allowing less tolerances and higher precision between the different parts, which all in all gives a phenomenal product from Malossi.
Note: It is important to use the supplied plastic connection when mounting the slide tube. If not, there is a risk of damaging the lips of the variator housing that ends tightly around the slide tube.
See in this video how to apply the lubricant and mount the slide tube securely:
